Devlog 1 - 27/04/24


Development of Scunthorpe Specials began this week, with a focus on creating a workable player movement system. A player, represented by a circle, can now be moved in 8 directions, allowing for diagonal movement. A web build of the game was created in order for it to be tested by a peer in order to give feedback. They noted that the movement worked well and the build had no apparent bugs. Setting up movement for the character was fairly easy as I had done it quite a few times previously, although actually creating a build of the game had its challenges as I had only done this once prior. I had an issue with a few scripts not compiling and had to begin a new project, importing the necessary scripts from the old project that was failing to build. This fixed the issue as the first build attempt was successful.
