KIT 207 - Self Study 2
I created a basic model in Blender using the pre-existing monkey head as a starting point. From there, I followed along these tutorials as per the self study guide: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLa1F2ddGya_-UvuAqHAksYnB0qL9yWDO6. In doing so, I created a sort of skeleton for the monkey man out of smaller pieces so that the model would be able to move with some freedom. Once this was complete and I had attached it the actual monkey model, I moved onto recording the animations. It took me a while to get the hang of the animation mechanics, however I got there in the end mainly from trial and error. The first animation I made was a walking one.
I'm mostly happy with the animation, although it was difficult to get it looking natural, I'm sure this ability will develop with time, however. After creating an animation I was satisfied with, I got to work on the next animation - a wave.
This animation was expectedly far faster to create, and by this point in time I was beginning to enjoy the process. I was able to create this animation with no real struggle (apart from continuing to get used to hotkeys mainly), and I was satisfied with the result.
