KIT 207 - Tutorial 2
Apologies - the gif has a very small amount of frames as it was too large to upload to itchio. I'm chuffed to say I successfully got my animation working in tandem with the player's movement. The method I used to achieve this was creating a script that tracks the speed of the player and sends it to the animator. The animator then switches between walking or idling based on whether or not the speed was 0. I also adjusted the animator so that the wave animation would only play if the character was still, as it looked strange drifting along without any leg movement.
The importation process of the model into unity along with the animations was quite straightforward. The only issue I encountered was that one of the animations was exported from Blender under a different name to what I expected. The fix for this issue was to simply try every animation until I found the one I was after, and luckily I did. All in all, the process of importing and using animations in Unity was quite intuitive, I thought.
